Now, this is a bit tricky. You can’t get everything in one. You can either get bass, turn your room into a DJ or home theater, or just transparency. But this JBL soundbar, JBL SB 550, is actually called SB 560, as it is available in different names on Amazon and Flipkart, but I am talking about 550. It’s very good. It offers two out of four features, and two and a half are actually very good. So, which one is this soundbar, and which audio signature is it? That is what I will explain. My name is Vineet Malhotra, and you won’t find a JBL 550 or 560 sibling anywhere else. Or what do JBL people write? JBL Cinema SB 550 Deep Bass. What do we understand by listening to the deep bass now? Are we going to get solid bass? You won’t find it inside, JBL soundbars have a familiar look, same design And it’s so elegantly beautiful that you don’t need any modification. You don’t feel the need to change. So it looks so premium. The grill is a metal grill. On top, you see a very subtle, you know, dark gray black finish. One of which is HDMI ARC. You got it right, it’s not eARC. It’s ARC. And do you know what the version is? One from 1900, not 1900, dude. In 2015, it was HDMI 1.4. That’s it. ok? There is an optical port and Bluetooth 5.3. Thanks bro, it was easy, you gave 5.3 instead of 4.2. That’s good. And with that, you get this 5.25-inch subwoofer. Now, inside the soundbar, you get three drivers, which the JBL people call, bro, you know it’s a 3.1 soundbar. The three drivers you get are nice, very good drivers and no joke here, but they forget to tell you that you also get tweeters here, which is why you get Dolby Audio support on it.
- So you get through the dolb audio pass. And I think oh yeah I always forget. This isn’t a DJ, and your room isn’t a movie theater, and this soundbar is a 250-watt soundbar. Yes, it’s a 250-watt soundbar. This 250-watt soundbar won’t replicate a movie theater. So, what do you get? It will give you clarity. You need clarity, very good dialogue delivery, that is, the strength of the mids and thanks to these drivers, what clarity do they give you, what is the delivery of the mid notes, you mean you get ultra clear highs and the bass is just phenomenal, see, there are two types, one is upper bass, the second you hear, the second you hear. Lower bass means dhoom dhoom dhoom dhoom dhoom, you feel it here. ok? So what’s inside it now? It has low bass. But how about the lower bass? Somewhat so that the sounds of other instruments or voices, i.e. the middle, are not suppressed. ok? These can also be heard separately. I mean, you’ll hear a little separation. But will you be able to understand clearly as you will get with this one? no It has three speakers. Power output for the subwoofer is 150W. You get a 100-watt soundbar. But JBL has delivered it so well that I like it. You have a small house, less than 250 square feet. ok? So, with any soundbar, let’s say you choose a 500-watt soundbar, you can’t take it above 70% volume because it will be so loud that it will startle the people next door, or even make them fall out of bed. People from neighboring flats or houses will also complain. You can’t hear it above 70% volume anyway, so what real value do you get from a 500-watt soundbar? The real power delivery only comes when you boost it above 70-75% volume. So I keep saying that you should choose a good soundbar based on your needs for your room. No problem, low power. Understand your taste. Choose accordingly.
- Now on to this soundbar: the JBL SB 550. This 550 soundbar, I mean 550, yes, it’s called 550. So, this SB 550 is 250W. Even if you turn it to full volume in a room under 250 square feet, the distortion is about 1% or so. So, absolutely no distortion. I can even say that there is no distortion. So, you won’t have any problem with bass. There is no upper bass that can distort the sound. The soundbar has so much clarity. Tweeters are doing so well. The highs are tuned so well that you will enjoy it. You’ll just rock. Everything sounds amazing. Ultra Clear Pro Max. ok? So, this is for those who are looking for clarity and those who are looking for really good quality audio. You pay ₹15,000 for this soundbar, but you’re paying for clarity. If you have to pay for bass, please do not buy this soundbar. Understand, this is a beauty, but not for everyone to write. Well, I already told you the price. Let’s also discuss its pros and cons. It costs ₹15,000. However, I have featured it at the top of the screen below You will see a picture. You just tap it. You will be taken to Flipkart, where you can check it out. There are occasional offers on it. So, I bought it for Rs 15,000. And I forgot to mention that JBL did not send me this soundbar. They don’t seem to be my aunt’s or uncle’s kids, or the guys who would give me the product for free or pay for it. So, I’m frankly, frankly not giving you in writing that I bought it myself. I checked it myself. I tested it myself. I made a video. I show it to you. I explain pros and cons, out of the box. I’ll talk about the pros and cons first, because I don’t know what an uncle or uncle is called. Now, you will find an HDMI ARC port inside it. Dude, what world do you live in? ARC 1.4 was available in 2015. Now what is it? Give ERC. I agree that it does not support DB Amost. How much did it cost you? Are you saving money? So this is one of the best. I wonder why brands feel that even after spending ₹15,000, an ERC port, an HDMI ERC port, is a luxury that we would offer on a ₹25,000 soundbar and not on a ₹15,000 one. What? Why? So don’t understand it, but it is what it is. Not making this soundbar that I give you. You are my audience, you accept it. So the second thing I think is that this is not a soundbar for people who want a lot of bass. must understand You have to draw a distinction. You need to differentiate between these soundbar categories. Not everything is good or best for everyone. Anyone can like this soundbar. For example, someone like me, would love this soundbar. This soundbar also provides you with some surround sound. This is a 3.1 soundbar. JBL does not claim that it provides surround sound.
